Tips to recover from Google Panda and Google Penguin

Tips to recover from Google Panda and Google Penguin
In my previous post, I explained about Google Panda and Google Penguin algorithms. Today, I'm going to discuss about the tips to recover from google panda and google penguin if your site is affected by these updates. Since the last 3 years, these updates have affected google search results for so many websites. Some websites have got better ranking and some have been dropped from the top pages. If you have got better rankings, then you may stay happy but if you have lost your rankings from the top pages, then this tutorial will help you in recovering from google panda and google penguin and get your search engine rankings back somehow.

1. Remove or Re-edit Low Quality Articles

Check your blog articles and delete low quality and old articles which are useless now. Check for the articles which are getting a very low traffic and delete them. If you think that the article is important for the visitors and not getting traffic, then re-edit it. Re-editing doesn't mean changing the sentence and images and publishing the same article, it actually means that you must write it in a new manner including new keywords and some better eye catching images.

2. Remove All Duplicate Content

If you have posted similar article more than one time in your blog, then keep one article and delete other articles which match with that article.

3. Fix All Broken Links

Check your links and if any broken link is there, you must fix that. If you have a small blog, then you can check your links manually but if your blog is huge and it is not possible to check the links manually, then you may use broken link detector tools, such as Xenu's Link Sleuth or Link Checker and fix the broken links.

4. Delete The Articles With Same Title And Same Keywords

Sometimes bloggers publish different articles with same title and same keywords. As an example, suppose you wrote a review on Acoustica Mixcraft 6 with title "Acoustica Mixcraft 6.0 Review" in your blog and when it's update released, you wrote a new review with title "Acoustica Mixcraft 6.2 Review". Now, the title is almost same for the search engine so it is considered as a duplicate post. So to be safe from Google Panda, you must either change the title of the article or delete the article and update the new information in the previous post and keep all the updated reviews in a single post.

5. Delete Spam Comments

There are so many companies which use auto comment softwares to comment on blogs to promote their company. These comments are detected by google as spam and the blogs with lots of spam comments are penalize by google. So check for spam comments in your blog and delete them as soon as possible. Disable anonymous comments, enable comment moderation and enable captcha to keep the spammers away.

6. Categorize Your Articles With Lables

While posting any article, make sure to keep it under a proper label which describes it the best. Using labels will make the search engine to crawl your articles easily and will help your visitors to navigate easily through your site. In this way, you can recover from google penalties somewhat.

7. Keep You Site's Structure Simple and Clean

Instead of making your site more attractive and flashy, you must use a simple design for your blog. To make your site stylish and flashy, you have to add more codes which may cause increase in the site load time which may cause decrease in the traffic. Sites with more scripts look better but their performance is not good for search engines which may cause Google Panda to penalize your site.

8. Don't Use Excess of Advertisements

Instead of using so many ad units, use two or three ad units at proper places. Google doesn't like sites with massive advertisements and penalize them. So, keep less number of advertisements to make your blog fast and be safe from google penalties.

9. Be Active In Social Media

Keep your site active in social media. Make your personal profiles and pages of your site on facebook, google+, LinkedIn and twitter. Create a youtube channel of your blog and upload videos related with the content of your blog. This will increase your audience and hence will increase your blog traffic. Having profiles in social media will increase your author rank and your blog will be assumed as a genuine and active blog.

10. Avoid Keyword Stuffing

Google Panda is very strict about keyword stuffing. So many bloggers include unwanted keywords which interfere the natural flow of the article. Using lots of keywords or repeating a same keyword in a sigle post so many times may throw your blog into trouble. Your blog may be penalize by google. So keep your blog title short and include only 2 or 3 keywords in it. In the body content, use less number of keyword which doesn't disturb the natural flow of the reading experience. This will keep your rankings high.

11. Don't Buy and Sell Links

It has been noticed that bloggers buy backlinks from other bloggers or use link exchange to increase their rankings. This method doesn't seem to be natural and google penguin penalize the blogs who buy or sell links to increase their rank.

12. Focus on the Quality of the Content

As you know that "Content Is King", so always write well framed and good quality content. If your blog has 1000 useless posts and your friend's blog has 200 quality posts, then he may get a better ranking than you because his articles are useful and well written so those articles will be ranked higher in google. So instead of increasing the number of articles with useless articles, make a less number of quality articles.
